Lotta dark fruit in the nose, along with pepper spice, hints of anise, vine stems, cigarette/cigar tobacco, and a good dollop of vanilla. On the palate this is a hard-edged, tight, dark-fruit wine that needs time in the bottle. Hopefully the edges will soften and the dark fruit will take center stage. If so, in a few years this will be a beautiful wine. (tasted 7/21/19)
