The difference is small, but this wine is a bit more austere (in a good way), with a hint more black cherry and black raspberry. Like the Sonoma County, it’s well-balanced and tasty all the way through the long, lingering finish. Buy this and the SC pinot and taste side by side. We let this wine sit out a few days to see if it mellowed, but it did not. Despite its age, the fruit and spice is there, but the finish is hard and disappointing.
